The event is comprised of one hour virtual panel session involving speakers dedicated to improving awareness about district energy solutions in the context of energy transition.

Amy Jacobs

Vice President of Commercial Operations, Enwave Energy

Amy Jacobs is the Vice President of Commercial Operations at Enwave Energy and is responsible for the commercial execution of complex large-scale projects with several stakeholders including utilities, municipalities, and provinces across Canada. She also oversees negotiations for all new and existing customer agreements with some of the country's largest developers, property managers, and real estate investors.  Since joining in 2014, she has progressed through several increasingly senior cross-functional positions within the company.  She has led a number of cross-functional process implementations that drove value and efficiencies for the company, and has been a key team member on multiple financings and acquisitions.   Most recently, Amy led the commercial workstreams on some of Enwave’s largest development projects, including the 4th Intake DLWC project, the Berczy Glen Geoexchange community, and the Western Expansion Project. Amy is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting from the University of Windsor.

Jim Heidell

Director, PA Consulting

Jim Heidell is a Director at PA Consulting and specializes in electric and gas utility regulation, distributed energy, district heating, evaluation of renewable energy technologies and financial analysis of complex investments.  Mr. Heidell assists clients with due diligence associated with acquisition of natural gas and electric utilities, distributed energy investments, and wholesale energy market transactions.  He has extensive financial and energy market modeling experience coupled with a deep understanding of regulated and competitive markets that he applies to the valuation of energy assets.  Mr. Heidell has prepared and submitted testimony in both regulatory proceedings and civil contract damages cases.  His regulatory experience and testimony includes rate design, cost of service, resource planning, and merger conditions.  Mr. Heidell also specializes in strategic analysis and evaluation of opportunities associated with renewable / alternative energy technologies.  Prior to working at PA Consulting he held positions as the Director of Finance and Director of Federal and State Regulation at Puget Sound Energy.  Mr. Heidell is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has an MBA in finance from the University of Washington, a MS in Engineering Economics from Stanford University, and a BSE in civil engineering from Tufts University.

Maria Munina

Investment Director – Partner, Vauban Infrastructure Partners

Maria Munina is an Investment Director at Vauban Infrastructure Partners, and has been involved in the origination, negotiation and execution of equity investments for Vauban Infrastructure Partners' Funds. With more than 19 years’ experience in infrastructure project financing and capital markets, Maria has developed solid expertise and a strong track record in the infrastructure market. Maria combines skills in equity investment with experience of project finance advisory and debt arrangement. Within Vauban Infrastructure Partners, Maria is in charge of leading brownfield investment projects. Specifically, she has initiated and led deal origination efforts in Central and Northern Europe, as well as more generally in airports and the district heating sector. She is a board member of Oslöfjord Värme, a leading independent Norwegian district heating provider using highly efficient and environmentally friendly heat pumps, a unique operation in Norway. In addition to her investment role, Maria has worked on investor and regulatory reporting for the Funds, specifically related to Solvency II requirements. She has also participated in the development of Vauban Infrastructure Partners' position within the European Commission’s working group ‘Experts in Infrastructure’. Before joining Vauban Infrastructure Partners, Maria spent seven years in the Project Finance team and Capital Markets Securitisation Division at Natixis CIB in Paris, where she worked on all aspects of origination, advisory, structuring and arranging limited recourse infrastructure financings. Maria holds a Master degree/DESS in Finance from Sciences-Po Paris. She also holds an MBA from both London Business School and New York University. She is fluent in 3 languages (French, English and Russian).

Anna Brighton

As a Director, Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Investment Banking at RBC Capital Markets, Anna is known as a leader in financial advisory and in debt structuring across transportation, energy, utility and social infrastructure sectors. Her deep knowledge helped uncover opportunities, maximize return and provide expert advice for the winning clients for 15 infrastructure projects in Canada over the last 5 years with total valuation of $26.5 billion. Anna engaged in a myriad of volunteering activities, including serving as a mentor in multiple women organizations and at RBC.

Anna received a Bachelor of Commerce from York University with Summa Cum Laude and a Masters of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business with distinction. She also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Anna received Women in Capital Markets’ Emerging Leader Award in 2019 and the Women’s Infrastructure Network’s Emerging Leader Award in 2020.
